Imagine standing next to Bryan Adams or Sting or U2 while they are performing on stage. Imagine being in their music videos. Well, you may not be able to do it in reality, however, you will be able to do it in the VR (Virtual Reality) world. VR music videos are predicted to be the next big thing in the music videos’ world. The only thing that limits a person with respect to what he/she is able to do in a music video nowadays is his/her imagination, thanks to the technological developments.

Last year, U2 opened a new dimension in VR. During their tour, each of their venues were outfitted with a double-decker bus where fans were invited to don a VR headset and enjoy the band performing in a 3D, 360-degree video. The fans were actually able to experience their favorite band members performing right next to them.

As budgets get lower, people start looking into more collaborations

Creating a VR music video can be expensive. Music artists who are short on budget are nowadays opting for collaborations with other artists. There are a number of serious musicians in YouTube. With the help of ‘Virtual Bands’, bands that collaborate in an indirect way, they make better music videos. Collaborating with each other is a very practical way for artists to create music videos. If the video becomes viral, they can share in the fame and the profit. Crowdfunding is another way how an artist can raise money for his/her music video.

Is lack of budget forcing people to be more creative?

The latest music video of Junk-E-Cat is a perfect example of a creative music video made on a budget. He has used Prisma, a photo filter app to create this video.
